After 55 years of a severe and violent dictatorship, the popular uprising better known as the Jasmine Revolution overthrew the government in Tunisia in 2011. This movement was considered a “spark” for the Arab Spring, which extended to all countries of the Arabic league around the world, arriving in Brazi,l in a similar way, during the popular protests that have occurred in 2013.
Real characters from this context outline an analysis of the country’s independence process, the role of women in building democracy in the face of conservatism and neoliberal traps.
The project is currently in the first cut with the intention of finishing with a feature film. It is intended to carry out another visit to Tunisia to update the theme within a new context, generated by the conflicts that broke out in 2021, with the suspension of parliamentary activities and a series of anti-democratic acts taken by the current governamental.
